29 Mar 2026: So far 2026 has been non-stop. I think this has been the first time I’ve managed to get any sort of update on my website, and we’re already a quarter of the year through!! I’m bucking the trend with work being absolutely crazy – I know my industry is going through a quiet patch in other parts of the Country, but I just haven’t stopped. The diary fills so quickly and new computers and laptops are flying out of the door!!
I have just added a recent batch of refurbished laptops to the site, with some really nice Lenovo’s included. I’ve pretty much sold all my stock of refurbished desktops and need to source some more. My own budget friend Mattrex30 PC is currently withdrawn due to the staggering price increases on RAM and Solid State Drives. I have been able to keep the price down due to having a good stock of both RAM and SSD’s, but sadly, the sensibly priced stock has come to an end, and I need to reprice the machine with current level component prices.
And on the subject of prices, as from the 1st April, I will have to increase my hourly rate to £45. It has been many years since I last had a change, but given the rising costs of everything, alas, it is a thing I must do. Making Tax Digital is going to add a whole lot of extra work and headache (those who already know me know that I’m not the fastest with my invoicing), and this is going to make things worse, I guess I won’t know what sort of addition it’s really going to be until I have to submit my first MTD report at the end of June. MTD does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for me, except add more workload to an already overloaded sole trader!
