FBackup is a free backup software for both personal and commercial use. It protects your important data by backing it up automatically to any USB/Firewire device, local or network location. The backed up data can be either compressed (using standard zip compression) or an exact copy of the original files.

FBackup will allow you to back up your important data to a plug in device, such as USB Flash Drive or external hard drive, a partition or additional drive on your pc or another pc on your network. I have not used this myself, but it looks simple and easy to use, allows you to schedule backups as well as running on the fly and saves data either as an exact copy or a compressed file (easily accessible via the restore routine or any zip program - such as JZip). You can even add plug ins for your browser (Opera or Forefox) to save history, favourites, passwords etc. It also supports Volume Shadow Copy, which will backup files even if they are in use.
